Editorial policy: authors and review
How Sapiens creates, reviews and updates the health content on this website.
Who writes for Sapiens?
Our articles are written by people who work with stress physiology and diagnostics every day. Each article names its author, their credentials and a link to their profile.
Jan-Philipp Martini
Founder of Sapiens. Master's studies in preventive medicine in Dresden and online courses at Harvard Medical School (HMX) in physiology and biochemistry. Former consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Writes about stress physiology, biomarkers and how to turn research into daily routines.
Prejwal Prabhakaran, M.Sc.
Neuroscientist in the Sapiens research team. Writes about the research behind our diagnostics, from validated questionnaires to stress hormones and heart rate data.
Dr. med. Dominique Sauter Peschke
Board-certified internist, trained at the university hospital of the Technical University of Munich and at the German Heart Centre. Focus on gut health, micronutrients and their role in stress regulation. Reviews our health content medically and writes about diagnostics and prevention.
How do we research?
Our articles are based on current medical research. We prefer peer-reviewed sources, ideally published within the last five years. For contested topics we use several independent sources. We prefer original studies to secondary summaries.
Where a statement rests on a specific study, we link to it in the text, usually via DOI or PubMed, so you can check the claim yourself.
How are articles reviewed?
Articles written by authors who are not doctors are checked by a doctor before publication. Reviewed articles name the reviewing doctor, show the review date and link to the reviewer's profile, so you can see who confirmed the content.
What do we not do?
- We do not promise cures or a longer life. Prevention means lowering risk.
- We do not guarantee results. People respond differently.
- We do not give individual medical advice. Our content does not replace a visit to your doctor.
- No hidden advertising. When we mention Sapiens programs or diagnostics, we label them as such.
- No affiliate links and no commissions for supplements or third-party products.
How do we keep content up to date?
We check every health article for accuracy at least once a year. When new studies or guidelines appear, we update the article sooner. Each article shows when it was last reviewed, and we mark substantial changes in the text.
How do I report an error?
If you find an error, email support@be-sapiens.com. We review every message and correct confirmed errors quickly. Larger corrections get a visible note in the article.
Who is responsible?
Responsible for content under § 18 (2) MStV: Jan-Philipp Martini, Sapiens Health & Performance GmbH, Dinxperloer Straße 365, 46399 Bocholt, Germany.
